Text Box: The last few months of 2007 saw us undertake a significant expansion program where we opened a variety of offices across South East Queensland. We have engaged a group of experienced consultants – all of whom have significant experience in the public sector – so this is a very exciting time for RTB.  We have now grown to a team of 8 and are looking at more opportunities to further expand across Queensland and interstate in 2008. Our team now incorporates the following members with relevant areas of responsibility assigned to each:-
· Heidi Shannon – Northern Sunshine Coast – Noosa to Maroochydore, Gympie and Wide Bay

Text Box: In the short term we will be looking to engage consultants in Toowoomba, Rockhampton and Townsville or Cairns which will give us an opportunity to provide a much more personalised service to clients across Queensland.
These are exciting times and we welcome our new team members and look forward to continuing to realise success for our clients in 2008. Over the coming editions of our newsletter we will introduce our team further so you can get a real feel for the expertise we now have to draw on and exactly what we can offer our clients.

Text Box: We have been very lucky since 2000 when we commenced operations to have featured regularly in the media advising readers, viewers and listeners on how to deal with Government Departments and Councils and how to access Government Funding. This media attention has obviously been very beneficial to our business – generating lots of clients across Australia. Essentially though we had more clients than what we could comfortably handle at times and therefore some time ago we made a decision to reduce our media exposure and not actively seek publicity. Now with the expansion of our team – we are in the position that we can handle influxes of clients as a result of appearing on television or some other

Text Box: medium. We will now again actively pursue media attention in the hope that some of our advice might assist those people facing problems in dealing with Government Departments and Councils or in finding funding for their business or community/sporting organisations.

To this end 2008 has started on a great note with our Director – Shane Bowering featuring on A Current Affair advising viewers of their rights with respect to fighting parking tickets. Our consultant on the Sunshine Coast – Heidi Shannon and Shane also were lucky enough to feature in a major story in the Noosa Journal discussing the setting up of the Northern Sunshine Coast office. The article in the

Text Box: Noosa Journal has since resulted in a feature story being prepared for the high profile Sunshine Coast business magazine – “Business Matters”. We have further stories planned across South East Queensland giving highlight to our expanding operations and with a view to helping more people with our specialised advice.

Text Box: As mentioned in our last newsletter – in August and September we ran a number of workshops across Brisbane helping non profit groups in understanding the process of applying for funding to funding programs and giving them advice on how to prepare successful submissions. These workshops proved extremely successful and well patronised with some 200 people attending the 5

Text Box: workshops. We have been asked by a number or organisations to run further workshops while we have also been contacted by a number of Councils across Queensland to run workshops in various areas.
While the workshops proved an outstanding success with over 99.8% of attendees rating the workshops as excellent value, a number of attendees have since contacted

Text Box: us about working for their organisation and assisting them by using our staff and expertise in preparing submissions to various programs. We are looking forward to running more workshops in 2008. Please contact us if you would be interested in attending or if you know anyone else interested in finding out how to write successful funding submissions.

Text Box: We look forward to realising substantial success for these clients in 2008.
The projects we are working on are very exciting and will challenge our skills and abilities in finding the right funding programs to apply to.
We also have in place arrangements with Aid for the Blind, a selection of schools throughout South East

Text Box: Queensland plus working with some Regional level sporting organisations – again these are exciting projects and will open doors and enable us to help other clients in the education, sporting and disability areas.

Text Box: We would like to welcome aboard some major new clients who have decided to engage our expertise on long term arrangements.
Life Tech Queensland, Sunshine Coast District Mens Bowls Association and associated clubs including the Noosa Tewantin Bowls Club are all additions to our growing stable of long term clients.

Text Box: ‘We look forward to realising substantial success for our clients in 2008’

Text Box: The end of 2007 provided us with some very satisfying successes for two of our clients.
One of these clients - Snugglepot Day Care Centre in Taree in New South Wales has been a long term supporter of RTB. In late December we were advised that we had been successful in obtaining a $10000 grant for Snugglepot.

Text Box: Geraldine Smith – the Director of Snugglepot was last seen dancing in the office according to her staff.
We are also currently waiting on advice in relation to a $50000 grant to fund a bus which is much needed to transport children to and from Centre.
We were also successful in obtaining a $4000 grant for the

Text Box: Queensland Museum’s Invertebrate Conference. While this may seem a small amount – we were only engaged by our client 6 weeks before the Conference and to find even a small grant in 6 weeks is testament to our skill and ability in finding opportunities and in preparing great documents which encourage fund managers to provide funding.

Text Box: closely with her in obtaining funding for the Museum Foundation and for the Museum of Tropical Queensland.
We have been working with Janice over the last year in her new position with the University providing advice and assistance with respect to funding opportunities. Janice is a source of advice and support and has been very helpful in

Text Box: At times you come across people who go out of their way to help you for no other reason than they believe in what you do and they have a heart of gold.
Janice Wilson, Director Capital Campaign, School of Veterinary Science from the University of Queensland is one of these people. Janice was formally with the Queensland Museum where we worked

Text Box: referring many clients to us while acting as a very supportive and important referee.
People like Janice are few and far between.
This is our small way of recognising her support to us. In return we will continue to provide as much assistance as we can in 2008 as a way of thanking her for her support to us over the last few years.

Text Box: Thank you!
